The little town of Burano, built on four islands that are connected by bridges, is located in the lagoon of Venice. The town is about 7km from Venice and can be easily visited from the town by a 40 min trip in one of the motorboats the Italians call “vaporetti”. The picturesque town of Burano with its colorful houses itself is worth a day trip during your Venice vacation. If you like handmade lace there is all the more reason not to miss out on this little gem. Burano has been known for its handcrafted lace since centuries and even has a lace making museum and school. Beautiful handmade lace can be bought in many stores all over the town.
