Water taxi cabs in Venice are small motor boats with a comfortable, roofed cabin that provide a convenient way to get form the airport, train station or harbor to the hotel without having to rely on public transportation. The boats come in three sizes that fit 1-4, 5-6, and 7-10 people respectively. The rates for a trip are accordingly depending on the boat size. While it is very romantic to start the Venice vacation with a boat trip from the airport of train station, however, it is a bit pricey. For example a trip from the airport to one of the hotels in the centre of the town or on the Lido in the smallest boat cost 108 Euros. It is therefore worthwhile to take a trip as a small group and split the fare.
