Venice is a pedestrian city. Longer distances are travelled on the water. You won’t see any cars, busses, motor cycles or even the scooters that are ubiquitous in other Italian towns, in the historic part of the town. So what do you do, if you used your own car to get to Venice? You leave it on one of the parking lots that were specifically built for this purpose and use public transportation to get into the town. The next time you will see your car again, is when you pick it up after your Venice vacation. The most inexpensive parking lots are on the mainland. The closer you get to the historic part of Venice, the more you will pay with the most expensive lots directly at the Piazzale Roma at the entrance to the city itself.
