If indie is your choice, then Magic is the club to head for in Barcelona. Every weekend will see like-minded people queuing down the street in anticipation of a great night of soft rock, 80s pop and disco classics.

You won’t find big name DJs at the Magic; this crowd are not after celebrity, they just want to have some fun. With a capacity of about 1000 people, the two dance floors can get a little hot and slippy, but that just adds to the atmosphere – along with the smoky bars.

Magic is open Thursdays to Sundays from about midnight until around five in the morning. To find Magic on the Metro, you’ll need Yellow Line, L4 (Jaume I), from where it’s a 10 minute walk. Leave the station, cross over Via Laietana and walk down the street that is right in front of you. When you see the park, turn right and carry on walking – you’ll know you’re there when you see the queue!
