This little snack bar is certainly not what you’re thinking about, if the words “snack bar” to you means the little fast food place at your local train station. Cantina do Mori exists since 1462, which means it is 30 years older than the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus. Legend has it that Casanova was a regular here.
Nowadays, if you don’t mind standing as there are no tables, you can join the locals, sip a good glass of wine and eat one of the delicious Venetian sandwiches called “tramezzine”. There are also some smaller snacks available that are a lot like the Spanish tapas. They are called cicchetti. Recently a limited selection of tasty main dishes like eggplant parmesan has been added to the menu.
